A full stack allround WordPress developer since 2009.
As a freelance WordPress developer I can help you out on your next project.
In the last 10 years I have been working on many WordPress projects. From a simple basic website, as WordPress originates from, to complex setups of being part of a backend architecture, and connecting WordPress via REST-APIs to the world, or deeper into the company.
My experience is on backend development to extend WordPress functionality to fit any customers need. Making use of the core WordPress hooks, filters garantees a strong fit between WordPress core and custom functionality.
2022 – 2023
WordPress / WooCommerce developer. Part of the Lyceo development team.
Implemented WooCommerce and a API sync to Lyceo own backend system.
Import of custom products like exams, trainings, and books.
All orders go through custom WooCommerce payment gateway to sync with backend.
2021 – 2022
WordPress developer. Part of a team of developers to build custom theme for online publishing platform. Integration with external news-portals, weather- and sportresults via REST-API. (JSON, XML)
2019 – 2021
A large project to migrate the whole backend data from TYPO3 CMS to a new custom WordPress CMS, without the frontend design to change.
Development of custom theme, based on the old website HTML/CSS.
Creating dynamic theme-templates to reflect the old HTML.
Create new data-structure in WordPress (via ACF) to match old data. (Post metafields / types / categories / permalink structure)
Use of PHP, GULP, SCSS, JS, GUTENBERG
2019 – 2020
Customer had a long list of issues and bugs that needed to be sorted.
Reverse-engineering other developers code to fix issues.
- API issues with NPO servers to retrieve broadcast-data.
- Layout issues for mobile vs desktop.
- Caching issues with NPO servers.
- Forum theme-based issues.
For this customer a lot of time was spend on tracing back the issues at its core. See what fixed the issue, but maybe re-engineer a lot larger part of the code, instead of a quick patch.
Time vs Impact.
2019 – Current
Lots and lots of API’s for this customer to connect WooCommerce to the world!
- more coming up
A very fun project to do. Ongoing WP-JSON / REST API development.
From multiple marketplaces the new orders are fetched and stored in WooCommerce.
From there the orders are processed and send to multiple warehouses.
When the tracecode is received, the marketplaces will be notified again too.
Pure PHP backend development into WooCommerce.
2018 – 2019
A full build of an online editor for your 360° images. Create quick and easy your virtual tours, and
show your customers your properties or unique worlds.
This project was not build on WordPress, but build from scratch. Very interesting project due to the use of a specific piece of software for the 360° player, called KRPano.

2017 – 2018

In 2007 i made a career change into the world of Coffee. I became a barista and served thousands and thousands of coffees on events over the coming years. In 2008 and 2009 I was the dutch barista champion as well. And in 2010 i co-authored the bestselling coffee-book “Thuisbarista”, to help spread the love for quality coffee at home.
Another hobby of mine is to “doodle” and create sketches purely by allowing the sketch to unfold itself. Letting go of all ideas and expectations. Create a space to just flow with what arises.
